Troy Youth Robotics

What is TYR?

Troy Youth Robotics (also known as TYR) is a citywide youth program created in 2017 to help promote STEM and foster growth in the young generation. During these exciting five years, our program has gained many new and interesting teams while mentoring more than 70% of these teams and growing to over 60 teams total. Through our weekly Saturday drop-in sessions and various mentoring opportunities, TYR teams can receive the proper resources and assistance they need to succeed in their season. As some students wanted to start their own teams and others wanted to join a team, we’ve created a platform on our website to allow them to either register or join a team! From there, we were able to develop this program into two competitions: one for FLL (First Lego League) and another for FTC (First Tech Challenge). We hosted these mock contests to help children grow and be inspired to work their way into the enticing field of STEM.
